Entertainers are highly paid

 

Some people feel that entertainers (e.g. film stars, pop musicians, or sports stars) are paid too much money.

It is observed that celebrities are paid very handsome money. I completely agree that celebrities are paid too much money because they entertain a large audience. However, teachers and police officers should also be highly paid.

Film stars and other public figures make a lot of money because they entertain the masses at a time. This is the main reason they get paid this much money. Additionally, if a film star or an athlete is able to engage thousands of people and these people are paying to watch that star, then they deserve to be paid accordingly. For instance, Babar Azam, who is the number one batsman in Pakistan right now, is being paid half a million rupees for each match. This is mainly because a lot of people come to watch him play, and he attracts a lot of sponsors.

Apart from these stars, there are teachers and police officers who play a significant role in the development of society and based on that, they should be paid well. However, it is observed that these people are usually not well compensated. Moreover, because of the low pay scale, students do not aspire to be teachers or police officers, and as a result, most qualified people choose other professions. For example, none of my classmates from high school went on to become a teacher or a police officer because they knew that the salary was not sufficient.

To conclude, entertainers are paid too much money because they engage a large number of people and deserve to be paid accordingly. Other professions that should be highly paid include teaching and the police. These people are the backbone of any society and should be paid well.
